Who can participate in the Ironhawk Juniors Triathlon Club (“IHJ”) program?

The Ironhawk Juniors Triathlon Club (“IHJ”) program is open to girls ages 7-14 from the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area.

How much does the IHJ program cost?

The IHJ program is free to all participants.

When does the IHJ program start and end?

The IHJ program start and completion dates changes each year. The first weekly practice is typically the first Thursday in June; the last practice typically is the last Thursday in July. The Final Event is the Sunday after the last Thursday.  See the IHJ Triathlon Club Program page for specifics on this year’s dates and times.

How long does the IHJ program last?

The program includes Kick-Off and Triathlon Event days (each on a Sunday) and 8-10 weekly practices (on Thursday evenings). See the IHJ Triathlon Club Program page for specifics on this year’s dates and times.

Where is the program held?

The entire program is held on the beautiful campus of College of St. Mary, 7000 Mercy Rd, Omaha, NE. We thank the College of St. Mary for the incredible support of the Ironhawk Juniors Triathlon Club program.

What if my child does not know how to swim or ride a bicycle?

For safety reasons, all participants must have a basic knowledge of how to swim, bike and run. However, IHJ believes that a child’s lack of exposure to a pool or bicycle, or knowledge of how to swim or ride a bike, should not prevent them from participating in the IHJ program.

Before the start of our annual program, IHJ provides an opportunity for parents to register their Junior for swim or bike lessons. Lessons usually last __ weeks and take place at the College of St. Mary. Please reach out to IHJ in February to inquire about lessons for the upcoming program season.

Am I able to donate and/or volunteer for the program?
