Ironhawk Juniors Triathlon Club

IHJ program participants, also known as “Juniors”, are from all parts of the Omaha-Council Bluffs area. The IHJ program is open to all girls, ages 8-14 years old, regardless of socioeconomic background or access to equipment. When Juniors have a need, IHJ provides free triathlon gear, including bicycles, helmets, running shoes, goggles, swimsuits, and swim caps. The IHJ coaches teach girls how to ride a bike and how to swim; more importantly, they taught the girls how to be kind, to love themselves and to support each other!

Each week, almost 200 girls attended practice and learned new skills. The Juniors’ hard work and skills learned at their weekly practices are showcased at the completion of the program at Event Day, when Juniors participate in a modified triathlon. With the encouragement of their coaches, volunteers, parents and many others, 150-250 girls participate in the IHJ Triathlon each year, proudly crossing the finish line to receive their medal!
